Based on some of the satements/claims made in the video above, one might conclude that atheists are better people than those who believe in God. Which raises the following questions: Is this true? If so, why is this the case? If religion preaches everything that is good and moral, why do more people with religions commit crimes, for one?
Caroline (not her real name) has worked in Singapore for more than four years. Her employer only gave her a day off after two years.
“We need the day off [to] relax the mind for the hard work [we do] every day… but they didn’t give. Even when I asked, they said cannot. ‘Because you’re Indonesian’, he said. If you’re Fillipino, I think you could [take the day off]‘. What’s the difference between Indonesians and Filipinos? We’re all human.”

Check out the video on the Maid Trade in Singapore, which centers on the plight of maids. It includes issues such as the training of maids, the differences in wages between maids of different nationalities, their living conditions, cases of abuse and the lack of avenues to turn to for help:
It seemed apt that my first post should be one of my favourite videos.
I love this piece partly because I’m interested in education, and partly because I found it a particularly useful resource when I was writing a paper. What struck me is how, after a long, long period of reading text, watching a good video (check out other great videos at TED) was such a refreshing change and a whole lot easier – and arguably just as useful – than continuing to trawl through lengthy text documents.
